Habitat for Humanity believes in the value of advocating for affordable housing for all people. Having a safe and secure place to call home supports financial, physical, and emotional health and changes the life of families who struggle without a place to call their own.
With the help of volunteers and local businesses such as Hinkle + Landers, PC, which specializes in audits for non-profits and other organizations, Habitat and other similar non-profits are able to provide financial assistance including counseling in money management to those in need.

Hinkle + Landers, PC was excited to sponsor the Supportive Housing Coalition’s Welcome Home Luncheon on April 23rd. The event was emceed by New Mexico State Auditor Brian Colon, who rallied the crowd to help raise over $30,000 to prevent and reduce homelessness and increase the quality of life for people with behavioral health issues in New Mexico by creating affordable, supportive housing in partnership with local communities and member agencies.
We at Hinkle + Landers, PC, believe that ending homelessness is an important and worthy cause, and can’t be done without the help of the wonderful work of non-profit organizations in our state. Farley Vener, CPA, CFE, CGMA, President of the CPA firm Hinkle + Landers, presented at the 2019 Professional Development Training in April, 2019, alongside Elise Mignardot, CPA, of the NM Office of the State Auditor (OSA). Their joint training was on "New Mexico State Compliance" with audit regulations. Mr. Vener and Ms. Mignardot presented in two sessions to government accountants from throughout New Mexico state.
